Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A., Tom grew up in a post-industrial melting pot of ethnicities in a region now called the “Rust Belt”, a part of the U.S. where the cultures and traditions of Middle America and the East Coast collide. Growing up with Hungarian roots, Tom was lucky enough to learn a second language, and practice the customs of two cultures simultaneously growing up, but at the same time was constantly juggling a double ethnic identity, striving to understand what it means to be both American and Hungarian. Realizing his place in a unique, yet complicated subculture led to a great interest in people and the surroundings that make them who they are, as well as the definitions of words like "race", ethnicity, nationality, culture, home, love, family... Tom earned a BA in Film and Digital Media from Cleveland State University before relocating to Budapest, Hungary to work in the film industry. He currently he works all over Europe in event photography & video, TVC production, corporate video & e learning, fashion editorial and campaign production, and film photography. History, decay, culture, cinema, and geometry remain important influences in his work. He is now pretty sure he identifies as American, but is also proud to be an active citizen of the European Union.
